Diffusion Collection Research

A diffusion collection is a cheaper collection produced by a designer, either for its own label or for high street retailers.
This is to gain more customers to purchased from the label, as the products in a diffusion line are affordable for almost everyone.

Preen has introduced a range called "PREEN line", this offers cheaper clothing, 1/4 of PREEN prices, a dress from the designers would cost over £800, the blue dress on the picture has a cost of just over £200.


Vivienne Westwood with Anglomania. The prices are still high, but seem extremely cheap comparing to the designer's original prices.

More casual and younger collection, is based mainly on jersey clothing.




Armani Exchange is one of the biggest collection for armani, its been running since 1991 and is a more younger and affordale version of the brand.


D&G by Dolce and Gabanna, is a much younger and cheaper collection, it offers a range of clothing as well as fashion accessories. This collection is for men and women.

John Galliano will be introducing his first Diffusion line from late 2010.


Other designer collaborate with High Street Retailers,offering a collection much cheaper than normal. One of the main retailers to collaborate with designers is H&M, the company has collaborated with designers such as:
